According to KCENTV, A doorbell video captured the moments before an unarmed 52-year-old black man was shot and killed by the Killeen, Texas police officer on January 10th.
On January 10th, family members witnessed first hand the horror as their loved one Patrick Warren Sr. was shot and killed by the police officer who was dispatched to de-escalate a situation.
The family is demanding the officer be terminated after the wrongful killing of Warren, Sr.
According to the family attorney, Lee Merritt, the family initially had requested a mental health deputy come to the home and provide assistance.
A mental health deputy was unavailable at the time, so a police officer was sent instead.
“The family of Patrick Warren Sr. demands the immediate firing and arrest of the officer responsible for his death,” said Merritt in a press release. “Bell County District Attorney Henry Garza must be prepared to conduct an independent investigation and prosecution of this officer.”
The officer was placed on administrative leave. The Texas Rangers are leading the investigation.
