The Sundance Film Festival is a rite of passage for many filmmakers. Ava DuVernay even received awards from the institute at the start of her career. It is a festival where only the best get to showcase their projects. Twin sisters Adanne Ebo and Adamma Ebo also known as the “Ebo twins,’ had a very successful run at the Sundance Festival.

The sister duo wrote and directed their 2018 film entitled ‘Honk for Jesus. Save your Soul.’ The short film is about the fall of an Atlanta mega church that seeks to rebuild by hiring a documentary crew but challenges arise along the way. The film caught the attention of Peacock streaming platform, Focus Features, and Jordan Peele’s Monkey Pawpaw productions. The filmmakers have been commended for their unique perspective and comedic authentic voices.

The short film will be derived into a feature and have its debut in theaters as well as be streamed on Peacock.

The twins gave a statement to Variety where they expressed their gratitude stating, “We’re so unbelievably blessed and hyped to be partners with Focus and Monkeypaw on our first feature film. Their commitment to our vision as filmmakers and bolstering the film as a whole is amazing and we cannot wait to bring it to the world with this team.”

These filmmakers are blazing a trail of their own and have gotten the attention they definitely deserved. The sisters are currently working on Donald Glover’s Amazon series, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.” As well as, Julie Plec’s and Greg Berlanti’s CW show “The Girls on the Bus.”
