Pastor Mike Todd brought in his first sermon of the year with a new series. This series called “Start Sharp” is helping everyone do just that. Pastor Todd closed out the year in triumph but has stressed the importance of a strong start. The sermon focused on a story and demonstration of what happens if you take the time to sharpen your axe. The axe is whatever in your life that has allowed you to become spiritually dull. Pastor Todd also explained the way to become sharp in your life is through prayer and fasting, submitting yourself fully to God. Transformation Church announced the start of a 21 day fast with an associated daily devotional that can be found on YouVersion Bible app.

Notes are below, as always be sure to listen to the message and see what stands out to you.

Notes

  1. Admit you lost the axe
  2. Stop denying you’re dull
  3. Do the natural to experience the miracle
  4. Take action to get the edge back

Scriptures

If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed, but skill will bring success. (Ecclesiastes 10:10)

The company of the prophets said to Elisha, “Look, the place where we meet with you is too small for us. Let us go to the Jordan, where each of us can get a pole; and let us build a place there for us to meet.” And he said, “Go.” Then one of them said, “Won’t you please come with your servants?” “I will,” Elisha replied. And he went with them. They went to the Jordan and began to cut down trees. As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!”The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it. (2 Kings 6:1-7)
