Hey there Delilah, and we’re not talking about the one in New York City, but the one in Queen’s City. OWN Network’s show “Delilah” had a secret showing of the first episode to the city of Charlotte, hosted by Charlotte is Creative.

While the creators previewed this for Charlotteans and showed Queen City’s beauty, it was obvious the guest star was Charlotte, North Carolina itself.

The show stars Actress Maarha Hill, an attorney named Delilah in Charlotte, North Carolina, who fights for the people.

When she encounters a college friend who has gotten herself caught up with a corporation, she’s wondering whether it is worth helping her friend out.

Girlfriend’s actress Jill Marie Jones stars on the show and plays the best friend is another attorney on the show, who she might go up to battle against in court.

Delilah is a show produced by the same creator of Greenleaf, Craig Wright, and Executive Producer Oprah Winfrey. And while Greenleaf was a show full of black characters, he wanted to make this show different.

Wright said that when approached by women in the street, they felt that shows never really encompassed everything they do. When he approached this concept to Oprah, they wanted to make it as soon as possible.

He even got help from Motown director Charles Randolph-Wright. It proved to be in favor due to Randolph-Wright’s knowledge of Charlotte.

Not only did they capture the beauty of the everyday Black woman, but also Charlotte too. It is definitely a show to watch.

Delilah premieres March 9 at 9/8C on the OWN Network.
