Pastor Mike Todd presents “Where’s The Evidence?” in The Upgrade series at Transformation Church

The latest sermon in The Upgrade series at Transformation Church started off with a bang. Pastor Mike Todd and Pastor Natalie Todd did their gender reveal and announced that they are having a baby girl. Also, Pastor Mike informed the congregation that they will be going on maternity leave following the birth of their daughter Gia. So, this is the last series until his return. This sermon delivered as usual, as it continued to highlight the importance of knowing and understanding The Holy Spirit.

Note 1: Tongues is not evidence of The Holy Spirit it is a benefit of The Holy Spirit.

Scripture: While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers. “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” he asked them. “No,” they replied, “we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” “Then what baptism did you experience?” he asked. (Acts 19:1-6)

Scripture: Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant  (1 Corinthians 12:1)

Note 2: The discerning gifts

• Word of knowledge to know something specific without having learned it by natural means.
• Word of wisdom a divine answer or solution for a particular event
• Discerning of spirits to be made aware of the presence of a demonic spirit

Note 3: The declarative gifts

• Prophecy a message of encouragement from God through a person.

Scripture: For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged. (1 Corinthians 14:31)

• Tongues a message from God in a language unknown to the person through whom the message comes
• Tongues- Gift of tongues-to man-needs interpretation
• Tongues- Grace of tongues-to God-prayer language
• Interpretation of tongues understanding and expressing the though or the intent of the message in tongues

Scripture: I wish you all spoke in tongues, but even more that you prophesies; f r he who prophesies is greater that he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification (1 Corinthian 14:5)

Note 4: The dynamic gifts

• Faith a supernatural impartation of belief and confidence for a specific situation
• Gifts of healings supernatural endowments of divine health
• Working of miracles divine intervention that alters our natural circumstances

Scripture: But the fruit the proof of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is law. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Note 5: If you really have The Holy Spirit The proof is in the fruit.

Scripture: If I speak in tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love. I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing ( 1 Corinthians 13:1-13)

Note 6: Your Heavenly language without love is just loud.

Note 7: The Holy Spirit is built to empower you in the hard.

Note 8: Receive the gifts of The Holy Spirit
