Maverick City Music has quickly become a household name, and a playlist favorite. The gmulti-platinum selling gospel group has topped the charts and now one of its very own members is branching out for her solo debut. Maryanne “MJ” George, has signed with the Christian and Gospel music recording home, Tribl Records to release her first solo album entitled, “Not Just Stories.”
“Not Just Stories,” is MJ’s first EP and on the album she shares with listeners about her faith walk, and how she feared becoming a songwriter is told musically on her song “Journey.” MJ shared what listeners can expect, “This album is sacred – it’s my gift to the Lord. Every song holds a tangible expression of a moment I’ve had with the Lord. I took a chance and went full-time with songwriting and artistry a few years ago. It was difficult for me, but this album became one of remembrance and grounding.”
MJ also shared that she had a real encounter with God during the process which made the writing of her album even more special and significant. The singer and songwriter is embarking down a new path in her career and personally as the mother to be continues her musical journey we will be tuning in for songs that will move us.
