2022 Oscar nominations announced
The 2022 nominees for the 94th annual Academy Awards have been released. Covering categories from Best Picture, Animated Feature Film, Costume Design, Actor and Actress in Supporting Roles.
This year’s nominations have set new records for some; Beyonce received her first Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, for “Be Alive,” in the film “King Richard.”
The film was nominated for five additional categories, including, Best Picture, along with the films “Belfast, “CODA,” “Don’t Look Up,” “Drive My Car,” “Dune,” “King Richard,” “Licorice Pizza,” “Nightmare Alley,” “The Power of the Dog,” and “West Side Story.”
According to CNN, this year after being nominated for Best Actor for his performance in “The Tragedy of Macbeth,” Denzel Washington has become the most nominated Black actor in history.
The Oscars will be held in Dolby Theater, and will air on ABC March 27, at 8 PM EST, and 5 PM PT.
