If you failed to tune into the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards you missed out! Grammy Award winning rapper and host of the program, Fat Joe, kept the viewers and audience members engaged throughout the night.
The show was also filled with phenomenal performances from some of hip hop’s all stars and newcomers.
BET included performances from Armani White, Clipse, Fivio Foreign, King Combs, Jeezy, Kodak Black, Lil TJay, French Montana, Joey Bada$$, Bleu, Est Gee, Glo Rilla, N.O.R.E., and Pusha T.
Here are a few standout performances from the night:
- Glo Rilla made her television debut performing her viral song “F.N.F (Let’s Go).” Her fiery performance had The Cobb Energy Centre in an uproar!
- King Combs made an ode to his father, Diddy with a rendition of “Can’t Stop Won’t Stop.”
- And Est Gee surprised everyone with bringing Jeezy out on stage.
- N.O.R.E. performed one of his classics “Nothin.”
- In addition, “Platinum recording artist Bleu premiered “Life Worth Living” featuring French Montana.”
- Joey Bada$$ gave a tribute to Young Dolph as he performed his song “Head High.”
- There was also an amazing tribute to LOUD records with a legendary line up including; David Banner featuring Lil’ Flip, Dead Prez, Mobb Deep with Lil’ Kim, M.O.P., Remy Ma and Fat Joe, Three 6 Mafia and Wu-Tang Clan.
Trina gave a heartfelt speech as she accepted the ‘I Am Hip Hop Honor’ Award.
Kendrick Lamar ruled this year taking home six awards including, “ ‘Artist of the Year,’ ‘Lyricist of the Year,’ ‘Best Live Performer, ‘ and ‘Album of the Year’ for Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. ‘Best Hip Hop Video’ for “Family Ties” with Baby Keem and ‘Video Director of the Year’ with Dave Free.’
Drake came in second, accumulating three wins for, “Drake took home three wins including ‘Best Collaboration for “Wait For U” with Future and Tems, and two wins in one category for ‘Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse’ with contributions on “Wait For U” and Jack Harlow’s ‘Churchill Downs.’
Latto took home the award for ‘Song Of The Year’ for “Big Energy” and Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” got awarded the ‘Impact Track.’ Hitmaka was crowned best producer of the year, while Glo Rill won ‘Best Breakthrough Hip Hop Artist.
