Kym Whitley hosts the 2nd Annual HBCU Honors with appearances from Fantasia, MC Lyte, Will Packer, Erica Campbell & more

The 2nd annual HBCU Honors is set to be a star studded show! 

The host for this year’s ceremony is Kym Whitley who graduated from Fisk University.

“I owe so much to my time at Fisk University. HBCUs gave me the tools to succeed, and it’s an honor to stand on that stage and celebrate the incredible people who are making history today. This event is all about Black excellence, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it,” said Whitley.

HBCU Honors will film live in front of an audience at the iconic Howard University’s Cramton Auditorium on Thursday, November 14.

The honorees for this year’s show are Hollywood powerhouse Will Packer who is a proud graduate of Florida A&M, former NASA Engineer Dr. Lonnie Johnson, and tech entrepreneur, Jewel Burks Solomon. 

The awards will kickoff with a performance by renowned DC Go-Go Band, Be’la Dona. Other performances and tributes include GRAMMY award-winning artists, Fantasia and Hezekiah Walker, hip-hop legend MC Lyte with the Virginia Union University Gospel Choir, The Voice‘s Mac Royals, singer Erica Campbell and her daughter, Krista Campbell and Will Packer’s children, Nija and Zion Packer will join the celebration.

Among the presenters are basketball player and champion for HBCU athletes Chris Paul, Founder and President of Mielle, Monique Rodriguez, the Founder of the Boss Network, Cameka Smith, and Founder of The Incubation Lab, HEIR, and Unanimous Media, Jeron Smith.
