We are blessed with 24-hours a day. Some days the time flies by while other days it seems as if time is standing still. No matter how busy you are, always make time for God. Here are some fun and creative ways to fit that one-on-one time in your schedule.

Wake Up with God

“And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed” (Mark 1:35)

As soon as we wake-up it’s easy to start thinking about the day ahead. However, try to pause and go to God before you go to social media or your calendar. Many people dedicate the first hour of the day reading God’s word. Some even call it “Power Hour.” You can begin reading a devotional, listening to worship music, or read a chapter in the bible. Pray to God, release your worries to him and thank him for giving you another day. You will be amazed how beneficial this time with God can be.

Pureflix and Chill

Pureflix is a streaming service dedicated to Christian and faith-based movies. They are inspirational and thought provoking. Pick a movie and watch and enjoy the show. Then afterwards dissect it. Do you have questions? Find the scriptures mentioned or that relate to the movie’s topic. Ask God to lead you as you dive deeper into his word.

Word Search

As more churches embrace technology it is easier to find an array of sermons online. Build a collection of churches you like and listen to their services in detail. Search the word in the bible and be attentive. Often times we treat scriptures like trail mix, we pick the chocolate or sweet parts out leaving the nitty gritty behind. Before you repost that scripture, search and see how it was used in context. This will allow you to understand and appreciate the message.

Build your War Room

War Room wasn’t just a good movie, but it is also something tangible you can create. You can go to God anywhere but having a designated spot can help. It can be in your closet, your car, or in your office. Make it a welcoming space that is easy to find solace in. Grab your prayer journal, gospel music, and block out the distractions.

God is always available, but he wants you to always be available. However, you choose to spend time with him is up to you just make sure you never get too busy to worship, talk, and learn from God.
