People ‘s Choice Awards recap

The people’s choice awards was definitely a night to remember. As Covid-19 still affects our country, the awards had no in person audience but had fans on big screens watching around the world. On Sunday, November 15, in Santa Monica. CA the show began with host Demi Lovato. 

Lavato started out the show sharing a little bit of her quarantine story.  Lovato stated, “This year has been the longest three years of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it started out amazing. I performed at the Grammys and sung the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. But then COVID hit and everything shut down, so I did what everyone else did. I went into lockdown mode,” she said. “I got engaged. I binged seven seasons of Pretty Little Liars, got un-engaged and went looking for aliens in the desert so basically the same as everyone else.” The singer was engaged to be married to actor  Max Ehrich. But like many things in the pandemic, that came to an end.

The PCA honored Jennifer Lopez with the People’s Icon Award, Tracee Ellis Ross with the Fashion Icon Award and Tyler Perry with the People’s Champion Award.

The award for comedy movie star goes to Joey King. During her acceptance speech King released some major news about Kissing Booth 3. Kissing booth 2 was awarded “Comedy movie”.  King went on to say, “And, also, I told myself that if I won, I would share a very exciting piece of news with everybody. So I want to tell you that The Kissing Booth 3, our final installment, is going to be released in summer 2021. I’m so excited!”  So, fans be on the lookout!

A stellar performance by Justin Bieber took the stage as he performed hit songs, “ Holy and Lonely” . The R&B sister girl group Chole x Halle delivered a breathtaking performance of “ungodly hour”. 

Ellen Degeneres accepted the award for best talk show host. Giving thanks to her staff saying, “ I am not only accepting this award for myself, I’m accepting it on the behalf of my amazing crew, my amazing staff, who make this show possible. They show up every single day, they give a 100 percent of themselves, a 100 percent of the time”.

As the show continued more awards were given out.

Will Smith accepted ‘Male Movie Star’ award and Bad boys 2 was named ‘Movie of The Year.’

This year’s Action movie was Mulan.

The drama movie of the year that won was Hamiltion. It didn’t throw away its shot on this award.

Family movie goes to the Pixar film “Onward”.

Female movie Star is accepted by Tiffany Haddish, Like a boss.

Drama movie Star winner is Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton.

The award for action movie star goes to Chris Hemsworth for his role in Extraction.
