If you are reading this, you have a purpose. The pandemic has put a lot in perspective for many people around the world. The death toll continues to rise day by day. However, you woke up this morning God still has a purpose for you. This unprecedented time has allowed people to reevaluate the path they are on, and how to either up their momentum forward or to create a new path. This pandemic doesn’t have to distract you from your purpose it can instead lead you to your purpose.

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect (Romans 12:2)

Social distancing is hard, for the extroverts of the world. The introverts are doing just fine. However, everyone is coping with the “new normal,” to the best of their ability. Although the world around us has shifted to an unrecognizable place we cannot be conformed to the hopelessness that has consumed so many. God is the only one that we can come in close contact with, no need to social distance, run to him and cast your worries unto him. We are children of God and we must not be conformed to the ways of the world. In this time where everything seems to be paused renew your mind and faith.

For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. (Habakkuk 2:3)

The Coronavirus didn’t call ahead to see if this was a good time to stop by or not. Many plans appeared to be halted and postponed. Although, rest assured that God’s timing is divine. This period has been worked into your plan before you were forced to pivot. You still have a purpose and in time you will fulfill it just be patient. Take advantage of this time to connect with God and listen intently for how he wants you to use the skills and talents you possess.

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in Heaven. (Matthew 5:13-16)

This pandemic has taken so much this year do not let it steal your light. In a time where many people are dying there’s a reason God keeps putting your name on the wake-up list. That is a blessing that someone somewhere did not get so do not waste your time dimming your light waiting to shine. The time is now. Everyone is making plans for once the world opens, yet don’t neglect the precious time you have now. You can glorify God and live in your purpose amidst a pandemic.
