Actor, Dwayne Johnson has revealed that he has a new sitcom coming to NBC that will be based on his life. The biographical sitcom, ‘Young Rock’ has been in the works for a while but Johnson finally solidified the series through Instagram.

“Ladies and gents, here’s your first look at @nbcyoungrock. I really wish my dad was around to see this one. Maaaaan he would’ve been proud. And yes, I was clearly kicking puberty’s ass at 15yrs old and becoming a tequila tycoon by the time I was 10 ????‍♂️,” says an excited Johnson.

Johnson adds, “ I can’t wait to make you and your families laugh a little and share some life lessons I’ve learned along the way.”

Young Rock will be an 11- episode series premiering on NBC’s streaming service Peacock on Tuesday, February 16, with a pilot episode co-written by Nahnatchka Khan and Jeff Chiang.

The upcoming new series will focus on the different stages of Johnson’s life “from growing up in a strong and resilient family, to being surrounded by the wild characters of his professional wrestling family, to playing football at the University of Miami. It will explore the rollercoaster that has shaped Johnson into the man he is today and the larger-than-life characters he’s met along the way.”

The teaser shares Johnson’s life from childhood with three actors portraying his various stages of life growing up. Adrian Groulx stars as 10-year-old “little Dewey” which was a nickname given to Johnson by his Godparents.
