Former ESPN radio host, ventures out on his own

From his hit ESPN radio show to now starting up a new sports content company Dan Le Batard and former boss John Skipper are stepping out on their own. 

The pair doesn’t have a name just quite yet, however Le Batard will be hosting and would like to sell the show to one of the following Sirius XM, Spotify or iHeartRadio prior to employing a crew of reporters and editors who are committed to sports as reported by  Sports Business Journal

After making the decision to leave ESPN, Le Batarad created his own podcast called “Dan Le Batard Show With Stugotz,” which has ranked in iTunes top in the sports category in its first week. 

Skipper, who is a former ESPN President, hired Le Batard back in 2011, a close source says, and the two have remained close since then. 

A source says Skipper will set in motion to find a home for Le Batard’s new series which combines sports, pop culture, some political chat, unconventional topics and whatever else Le Batard and his co- host Jon Weiner have in mind. 

During a discussion Saturday  Le Batard would not unveil why he decided to create his own media company, and what the primary basis of  the show will be and what platforms would listeners be able to hear him on. The foundation of the show will mainly be around sports.  

Le Batard,52 and ESPN were able to come to a mutual agreement in parting ways after 8 years together.
