Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts donated $30,000 to a family in need. Hurts found out about the family through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

The foundation is said to help children battling cancer. Alex’s Lemonade Stand connected him with the family of 7-year-old Erick after hearing about their issues during COVID-19.

Hurts said that they experienced a lot of adversity and wanted to hear more about it. The family had been living in a two-bedroom trailer in Nottingham, Pennsylvania.

After a visit with the family, Hurts gave them a $30,000 check. The money would be used for a down payment toward a new home.

Hurts told ESPN’s writer Tim McManus, “One thing I like to do is be encouraging at all times, uplift those around me.”

Hurts even invited Erick and his family to practice and a game for the Eagles.

“I just wanted to make an impact in the city of Philadelphia, in this area,” said Hurts.
