There is a new series coming soon titled “Queens” and it looks like Brandy, Eve, Nadine Velazquez, and Naturi Naughton will be joining the new cast.

Queens, written by Zahir McGhee, will be a music drama set in the hip-hop world where Brandy, Eve, and Naturi Naughton will be a musical group. The show will be unique in that both Brandy and Eve will record and perform original songs as their characters.

The series will follow four women who were legends in the hip hop world back in the 90s. They reunite later in life for a chance to recapture their fame and regain their swag.

Brandy will play a character named Naomi, who was known as Xplicit Lyrics of the group Nasty Bitches. Her character was an artist that had no boundaries when it came to her talent. Naomi’s life appeared to be good after 20 years but in reality it was not.

Naomi was described as a, ‘true artist with boundless musical talent,’ who was convinced by others that she’d become a mainstream success after the group broke up.

When the group decides to make it work for old time sake, Naomi will be reunited with an old flame in which her bandmate stole from her. After everything that has happened, Naomi truly wants to connect with her daughter she was never there for when she was younger.

The role marks the first TV starring role for Brandy since playing Chardonnay in BET’s The Game, and her first small screen appearance since playing Cassie Brown on Fox’s Star

The pilot is still casting for more characters. Right now there’s no indication when casting may be complete or when production will begin.
