Boyz II Men movie musical ‘Brotherly’ in development

The legendary R&B group Boyz II Men is reportedly getting a movie musical with Amazon Studios, Davis Entertainment, and Malcolm D. Lee’s Blackmaled Productions.

Malcom D. Lee is in talks to direct and produce the film that will be based on Boyz II Men catalog.

John Davis and John Fox are set to produce the project through Blackmaled Production. 

The Hollywood Reporter‘s stated that the synopsis of the film, Brotherly will follow a group of men “who will return to West Philadelphia for a high school reunion 20 years after having gone their separate ways — eventually finding hope, redemption and a new understanding of the enduring power of friendship.”

Boyz II Men are repped by ICM Partners where the film will be written by Marcus Gardley, who wrote the upcoming The Color Purple musical adaptation, as well as What’s Going On, the Marvin Gaye biopic.

Eric Bromberg, Joe Mulvihill, Davis Entertainment’s Jeremy Stein and Sheila Walcott will be included to executive produce, along with Boyz II Men’s Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman.
