Miss Alabama for America 2021, Zoe Sozo Bethel, has died after suffering a brain injury from falling out of window in Miami, according to Fox News.
Miami Police were called to the scene February 11 at about 12:05 a.m for an attempted suicide case. Shortly after their arrival, Bethel was transported by Mimi Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Bethel suffered brain injuries from the blunt force trauma for eight days after the accident. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner ruled the death of the 27-year-old an “accident.”
According to People, police stated, “This was a tragic accident, and no foul play is suspected.”
Bethel was described by her family as a sucker for nature and a loving mother to her 5-year-old son.
“Even though she was glamorous in her modeling and as a pageant queen, She was not afraid to get her hands dirty for a good cause,” the family said in a statement to Fox News.
