One of rapper Young Dolph’s suspected killers, Justin Johnson, has reportedly been attacked during his time in jail.

According to TMZ, Johnson was punched by another inmate while making a phone call on Friday (Mar. 18). Johnson’s lawyer, Juni Ganguli, Johnson was approached and attacked in the facility’s visitation area.

A Shelby County Sheriff’s Office representative confirms that no injuries were reported.

Adolph Thornton Jr, known as Young Dolph, was brutally shot and killed on Nov.17,2021. 23-year-old Johnson was arrested on Jan.15, alongside a second alleged gunman, 32-year-old Cornelius Smith.

An autopsy report was released last week, revealing that Dolph was shot 22 times. His death was ruled as a homicide.

Allegedly, the West Tennessee Regional Forensic Center confirmed that the rapper was shot multiple times in the back, right chin, right shoulder, right neck, left abdomen, left chest and both arms.

Dolph’s family released an official statement following Dolph’s death. It read “There are no words that exist that sufficiently express the pain we are feeling as a family. Losing Adolph, Dolph, Man-Man, changes our lives forever. And while we will take each day as it comes, we are comforted in knowing that he leaves a legacy that reflects his heart, a heart that was for his family. A heart that was for the people. We are grateful for the outpouring of love. We are grateful that his godly obligation to show kindness to the world is being acknowledged.”

A third suspect, Shundale Barnett, was also arrested and charged with being an accessory, but was released and currently missing.
