On Friday June 3, Metro Boomin’s mother was killed by husband near Atlanta, GA. According to TMZ, police found her body just outside the city and are currently conducting an investigation.
Leslie Joanne Wayne was reportedly killed at the hands of her husband, who then took his own life. The man was married to Metro’s mom, but was not Metro’s biological father.
An autopsy is being conducted into Wayne’s murder to determine an official cause of death. A Metro Boomin representative stated that, “Bomnin and his family request their privacy during this difficult time.”
Leslie supported Metro’s music career ever since a young age. She bought Boomin his first laptop at 13 where he downloaded a beat production program and taught himself. She even devoted her time by driving from St. Louis to Atlanta and back, nearly every weekend to collaborate with active rap artists when he was still in high school.
Metro remains a predominant producer in the industry, his most recent project Savage Mode II released in 2020 being an epic collaboration with 21 Savage which was well received by fans.
