Pastor Mike McClure Jr. got the opportunity to open and close for the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama. The World Games is a worldwide sports event that happens every four years, following each Summer Olympic Games.
Over 3,600 athletes traveled to compete in unique disciplinary sports. This year’s World Games were hosted in Birmingham, Alabama which was only fitting to have Pastor Mike Jr, a native of Alabama perform. The event generated $256 million for the city.
He even went on to say in a tweet, “Birmingham is impacting the world!”
It was his first time performing in the ceremonies for the World Games. He was able to perform his song, “Amazing” for the audience.
Though the artist got a laugh out of one team confusing him with Nelly. Despite the mix up, he is having a great year, as he just won six Stellar Awards including Artist of the Year.
