Quinta Brunson makes history with Emmy Awards nominations

Once known for her viral videos and the viral meme, “You got money !,” Quinta Brunson has officially made Emmy history with her hit mockumentary show, Abbott Elementary. 

Brunson has earned three Emmy nominations; Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, and Writing for a comedy series (for the episode “Pilot”).

She is the first Black woman to receive all three of those nominations. She is also the youngest Black woman to ever be nominated in the comedy category. 

In her tweet above, she went on to thank all of the cast and crew and express her gratitude by saying, “Congrats to the entire staff and cast of Abbott Elementary. And I want to share this moment with all of the people who watch and love the show. Emmy nominated, baby!”
