Xscape to receive the ‘Lady of Soul’ award at the 2022 Soul Train Awards.

The 2022 Soul Train Awards are less than a month away and a major announcement has just been made about the show.

Xscape is set to be recipients of the ‘Lady of Soul’ award. 

Starting in 1991, the group consisting of Kandi Burruss-Tucker, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, Tamika Scott, LaTocha Scott, went on to create six Top 10 hits on the Billboard charts. Those hits include: “Just Kickin it,” “Understanding,” “Who can I run to,” “My Little Secret.”

Their music has been featured in many African-Amercian movie classics such as Big Momma’s House, Love Jones and Soul Food. 

Connie Orlando, EVP Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy said, “Xscape is one of the most notable R&B supergroups of all time. Their powerful vocal harmonies laid the foundation for ‘90s R&B and some of today’s chart-topping hits.”

Xscape’s music has been samplied by some of today’s chart toppers such as The Game, Trey Songz, Summer Walker and more. 

The 2022 Soul Train Awards will premiere on Sunday, November 27.
