The final days of 2020 are here. There’s hope that 2021 will be more eventful and more social. Yet before you toast with champagne or watch the ball drop remember that God didn’t take a leave of absence in 2020. He will be the same today as he will be tomorrow. It is a blessing to still be here to welcome a new year as so many are not here to join in celebration. So, as you make those “New Year’s Resolutions,” remember to include God.

Many have canceled 2020, for obvious reasons. It will go down in history as the year, the world stopped. A year of change and disruption. Yet one thing has remained the same, God. His grace and mercy has remained. He is still a way maker and a miracle worker.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2

This year has shown us the good, bad, and ugly. The political and racial uproar that flooded this country. Then the good and kind people that stepped up to provide meals and resources to those in need. We learned how to come together while staying apart for the safety and benefits of others. While we may wish to leave the quarantine life in 2020. Let’s take the generosity, innovations, and comradery with us into 2021.

“One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffer want.” Proverbs 11: 24

As you create your vision boards filled with weight loss goals and tropical islands to visit remember God. Be grateful that you were spared this year and continue to fulfil your purpose. Maybe in this time of social distancing you’ve come to realize what you are called to do. Make a plan to read God’s word. Love, forgive, and help others and thank God that he guided you through a hard year and pray for more guidance and fearless faith for 2021.
