Star quarterback at Kennesaw State University dies after being shot at more than 50 times

Kennesaw State University sophomore quarterback Ladarius Clardy found dead in his car after being shot 50 times in a drive-by shooting after returning to his hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
A witness found the car after crashing over an embankment and called the police.
Early Thursday morning, eighteen-year-old Ladarius Clardy was with another teen who was seriously injured in the passenger seat. The other teen was a 19-year-old male and was taken to a nearby hospital where he had to go in for surgery.
Clardy was a rising sophomore at Kennesaw State and a backup quarterback. He was a star player at Pine Forest High School in Pensacola where he led the team to state playoffs and earned consecutive Offensive Player of the Year awards his junior and senior years, tallying 2,047 passing yards, 605 rushing yards and 17 touchdown passes his final year in school. Overall, Clardy threw for nearly 6,000 yards and contributed to 83 touchdowns in three seasons at Pine Forest.
The Kennesaw State University community is mourning the loss of the rising sophomore. Carlos Allen Junior was a friend of Clardy and called him ‘LD’ or ‘number 2.’ “Everywhere you seen me you seen him and vice versa….I just loved him like my blood brother and I miss him,” told CBS46 News.
Escambia County Commissioner Lumon May stated that, “He was a wonderful honors student, a great athlete, but more importantly, a young man that has lost his life to violence.”
Investigators are looking for more information and want people to come forward to help them solve this homicide with a $5,000 reward to anyone who may have a lead.
