Ariana Fletcher tries to clean up image after offensive comments

Model and social media influencer, Ariana Fletcher, has recently come under fire after her alleged comments on domestic violence victims were captured on an Instagram live stream.
When Fletcher appeared on the Don’t Call Me a White Girl podcast with her friend, she spoke on her relationship with famed rapper, MoneyBagg Yo.
She admitted that she has been the toxic person in her previous relationships, revealing that she had liked it if he pulled his gun out on her to stop her from leaving.
“Like, pull your gun out and show me like, b*** leave, I wish you would walk out the door,” Fletcher said.
Shortly after, the clip went viral and several people on social media banded together to call her out for making such ignorant comments. The influencer later addressed the subject on an Instagram live stream.
She criticized domestic violence victims by saying, “we do not care” about anything that they have experienced or been through. There was plenty of name-calling and a lack of care for such victims.
The backlash for her statements started immediately. With Fletcher serving as a brand ambassador for Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty line, it came as no surprise when she was dropped from the company. The singer herself went through a very public domestic violence incident with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009.
The ladies of Fox Soul’s Cocktail Queens discussed the controversy and they all agreed that Rihanna made the right decision. Lisa Raye called Fletcher “immature” stating, “this is the prime difference between a celebrity and social media influencer.”
In an attempt to clean up her image, Fletcher spoke with Nyla Simon on Power 105.1 about her plans to start a non-profit and partner with Fashion Nova to help domestic abuse victims.
“I’m teaming up with FashionNova… I’m doing a giveback for some women’s shelters and also for domestic violence,” she explained during the conversation.
She presented a completely different tone than her previous appearance on the podcast. It became clear that Fletcher regretted her comments and is now trying to change the narrative.
