On Monday morning, Judge Ural Glanville denied the bail of rapper Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Kitchens, in the RICO case against Young Slime Life.
Judge Glanville set the trial to be January 2023 based on the premise that there would be witness intimidation if he was going to be released.
One of the prosecuters from the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office went on to say that, “They are the ones directing the violence,” referring to both Young Thug and Gunna. “They direct their troops.”
Gunna’s attorney, Steven Sadow, gave a statement to Billboard, “The court was obviously concerned about threats and intimidation of witnesses. We believe when the court hears evidence, not just the words of the prosecutor, it will find that Sergio’s release on bond will not, directly or indirectly, pose a significant risk to witnesses. We look forward to having an evidentiary hearing on this as soon as the court permits.”
Gunna, along with other members of YSL were charged with an 88 page indictment that included charges such as carjacking, robberies, allegations of murder and illegal firearm possession.
