Daniel Kaluuya joins ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ cast as Spider-Punk

Adding to his heroic acting roles, Daniel Kaluuya is swinging from Marvel’s live action films to Sony’s animated sequel Spider-Verse. The Oscar winning actor will be voicing the role of Hobart “Hobie” Brown, a.k.a. Spider-Punk. 

Directed by Justin K. Thompson, Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers the feature is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2023.

The ‘Nope’ star will join Shameik Moore (Miles Morales), Hailee Steinfeld (Spider Gwen), and Jake Johnson (Peter B. Parker), who starred in the first film. The movie is also extending its web as a new group of actors joining the sequel.

Among the new cast confirmed—Issa Rae (Spider-Woman), Oscar Issac (Spider-Man 2099), and Jorma Taccone (The Vulture) — will contribute their voices in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part-one.)

The sequel’s storyline hasn’t been revealed but one could guess it will start off where the first movie ended. Brooklyn’s neighborhood Spider-Man, Miles Morales will travel through multiverses, joining forces with Gwen Stacy and a new team of spider-people to face off against an influential villain.
