Gospel singer and songwriter, Niiella, is an artist that needs to be immediately added to your worship playlist. She recently dropped her latest single “Temple” which is sure to usher in the Holy Spirit and shift your atmosphere.

Niiella grew up as a preacher’s kid and at the age of 16 while listening and singing along to Kierra Sheard records she realized not only how good she sounded but that she possibly had what it takes to go pro.

As time progressed, Niiella fell into her calling when she went on a reality TV show in Ghana. Stars of the Future is where Niiella emerged to stardom. In the end, she came out as the first runner up and realized that she specifically wanted to sing gospel music.

“And then I think the CEO of the company that actually put that show together was like, you know, so what type of music do you want to do?…And I was like, I think I want to do Christian gospel music,” said Niiella. “You know, if there’s a young person out there who’s experienced even a half of what I’ve gone through, I want them to listen to the music and feel God’s love.”

Niiella would later make her big crossover into gospel music representing both the UK and Ghana as a 2020 contestant on BET’s Sunday Best where she placed in the top ten.

As Niiella spoke to The Link Entertainment about her life and career journey, a common theme was that she kept randomly falling into opportunities. Like discovering that she could sing and becoming a contestant on two music competition shows. Ultimately, nothing is really random when it comes to God. An important message to take away is that it’s okay to not know what to do with your life. Niiella learned that speaking to God about any and everything helped guide her journey to where she is today.

“God will get you there but you have to be honest with him about where you’re at and what’s going on and what you don’t understand and what you need help with,” said Niiella.

Some of her musical influences have varied over the years but she indulges in the sounds of Natalie Wilson, CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Kierra Sheard and Kirk Franklin.

Diving deeper into her passion, Niiella decided to become a vocal coach where she created an initiative called “VoBox” to teach artists and choirs the importance of taking care of their vocals. She instructs her clients on how to increase range and how to breathe properly in order to have longevity.

Niiella announced that she recently partnered with Integrated Music Rights, which is part of the Integrity Music family. Fans can check out more new music from Niiella when her EP, Living Out Love releases on September 22.
