Ice Cube slams Democrats after convention: “What’s in it for the Black Community?”

Rapper Ice Cube took to Instagram to criticize members of the Democratic Party following this past week’s convention, saying that speakers failed to mention “what’s in it for the black community,” and urged voters to make both parties “earn that vote.”

The hip-hop icon went on to say that despite all the fanfare, no one spoke about a “contract with Black America” and ridiculed them for only talking about Donald Trump. “The way it look, they don’t really have a problem,” he continued, “Everybody talkin’ about ‘Get Trump out, get Trump out, get Trump out.’ If you vote, that’s gon’ happen on the first day. So, now what? Trump out, now what? What do we get in the first 100 days? That’s what we’re trying to figure out.”

The rapper also discussed how black business owners were neglected when $3 trillion were spent during the Coronavirus pandemic, which resulted in nearly half of their businesses being forced to shut down. Cube doesn’t think Democrats have a plan to help struggling minority communities moving forward. “Democrats don’t seem like they got a plan, Republicans don’t seem like they got a plan for us,” he said, “Make they a** earn the vote… Stop playing with these people and maybe they’ll stop playing with you.”

Ice Cube has always stood firm about the reconstruction of Black America. His political activism stems back to his NWA days. In the past, he has demanded politicians address racial inequalities within the finance industries, criminal justice system, educational systems, and Hollywood.
