Our favorite pastor is back with another series that will transform your life. Pastor Michael Todd began his “Forgiveness University” series on Sunday, September 27th and it started out with a bang.
You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.
Colossians 3:13
Most of us have either heard or read that scripture at least once in our lives; The question is, do we understand it?
Todd began to delve into the meaning of forgiveness and why it is necessary for Christians to master the subject.
“Forgiveness is a primary spiritual discipline of every Christ-follower,” said Todd.
He emphasized the importance of having a strong foundation which includes the act of forgiving in order to walk into your destiny.
All through the sermon, Todd used examples of how holding onto the spirit of unforgiveness and offense will literally weigh you down.
He began a physical representation of the concept; people walked around him in a circle holding bags of “unforgiveness” while he started to pick up every “offense,” eventually carrying all of the bags.
This was a physical representation of how we choose to let offense have power over our lives. He spoke on how we literally can not fit through doors of opportunity while still carrying offense and unforgiveness in our hearts.
