Don Sutton, famous for his right hander for the Los Angeles Dodgers won over 300 games within his Hall of Fame career, died Monday night announced by son Daron on Twitter.

Sutton died from cancer in his home at Rancho Mirage, California. He was 75, says ESPN

On his Twitter page Daron says “Saddened to share that my dad passed away in his sleep last night, He worked as hard as anyone I’ve ever known and he treated those he encountered with great respect…and he took me to work a lot. For all these things, I am very grateful. Rest In Peace.”

In the 23 years as a baseball player, Sutton dedicated 16 of those to the Dodgers. Beginning in 1966 to 1980 and then coming back in 1988 for a final tour. He had become a four -time All Star within his career with a 324-256 mark and a 3.26 ERA. His winnings add up to a total of 324 and he has placed 14th in major league history.

In a statement released by Stan Kasten, Dodgers president and CEO says, “Today we lost a great ballplayer, a great broadcaster and, most importantly, a great person, “Don left an indelible mark on the Dodger franchise during his 16 seasons in Los Angeles and many of his records continue to stand to this day. I was privileged to have worked with Don in both Atlanta and Washington, and will always cherish our time spent together.”

Sutton has pitched for other teams such as the Houston Astros, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels

He had become a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998.

Born Donald Howard Sutton on April 2, 1945, in Clio, Alabama, son of sharecroppers. Once his family packed up and settled in northern Florida, Sutton had become a triple threat in his high school sports. He showed a favoritism toward baseball when he was younger. He played all throughout junior high before the Dodgers signed him in September of 1964. Just a few months before the MLB draft.

Sutton had an impeccable career, and will be deeply missed by fans.
