Superstar Beyonce Knowles and her BeyGOOD foundation recently partnered with Adidas to provide assistance to those affected by Winter Storm Uri.

The two entities are working with Bread of Life Inc., a Houston-based non-profit, to provide up to $1,000 in “one-time financial assistance to those who have experienced a non-recurring, sudden or emergency-related financial hardship.”

On Thursday, victims were advised to visit Bread of Life Inc.’s website and submit a Disaster Relief Assistance application. Within 24 hours of the announcement, Bread of Life Inc. closed the application process, releasing this statement on their site:

Thank you for contacting us. Due to the overwhelming response, emphasizing the tremendous need, the first round of applications have been received and are now being reviewed for immediate assistance. We are closing the application process, while we work diligently to help the most needy in the wake of the winter storm. -Bread of Life, Inc.

Millions across the state of Texas have been harshly affected by Uri; many people having gone days without power, or any supply of water.

In addition to her initiative with Bread of Life, Beyonce and rapper Trae the Truth are also providing 1000 meals and cases of water to families in need at the Foundation Life Center in Houston.
