Pastor Mike Todd has returned with a new series. A few guest pastors have spoken to the congregation since the ending of the last series, “Paper Chasers.” However, Pastor Todd did not disappoint with the introduction of a 7-week series entitled, “The Upgrade.” This series will dive deep into defining and understanding who the Holy Spirit is.

Note 1: You cannot be anchored without the Holy Spirit

Scripture: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that abide with you forever. The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:16-18)

Note 2: The Holy Spirit is not just a power. He is not just a presence. The Holy Spirit is a person.

Note 3: God the Father is not more powerful than the Holy Spirit.

Note 4: One God, three expressions

Visual Analogy of water, ice, and dry ice. All of which are composed of H2O. There are three different forms but are all composed of water.

Note 5: The Holy Spirit is God, but if you don’t seem Him as God you will treat Him as extra.

Note 6: All the same name, but different functions and locations

God the Father (provider), God the Son, Jesus (Savior), and The Holy Spirit (Helper.)

Note 7: God id our Father that provides, who is set apart (or Holy) in Heaven

Scripture: But from now on the Son of Man will be seated in the place of power at God’s right hand. (Luke 22:69)

Note 8: The Holy Spirit is our helper who is active right now on Earth

Note 9: The Holy Spirit isn’t extra, He is essential

Scripture: … and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:3)

Pastor Todd explains that the voice or intuition you have that protects you or guides you in a situation is the Holy Spirit. This series will be introductory for many and hard to grasp for some. However, it is an essential understanding to have as believers. This series appears to be one that is structured similar to a college course, the first class is always confusing and hard to grasp but as it goes on you will begin to follow along better and pass with flying colors.

Hopefully you will choose to follow in this series and watch the sermon for yourself to see what stands out to you.
