The 7-week series entitled ‘The Upgrade,’ is a series focused on understanding and knowing the Holy Spirit. Pastor Todd enters week two with explaining how the Holy Spirit is a comforter.

Note 1. Recognize God

Recognizing somebody doesn’t mean you have a relationship with them. Strive to go from recognizing God to having a relationship with Jesus.

Note 2: Receive Jesus

Note 3: Release Holy Spirit

Scripture: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave your orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:16-18)

Scripture: But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:26)

Note 4: The Holy Spirit is my teacher

Note 5: The Holy Spirit is my hard drive

Scripture: But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. (John 15:26)

Note 6: The Holy Spirit is my assurance

Scripture: However, when He, the Spirit of truth has come, He will guide you into all truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will tell you things to come. (John 16:13)

Note 7: The Holy Spirit Speaks

Note 8: The Holy Spirit is your advantage

Scripture: Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. (John 16:7)

Note 9: The Holy Spirit is God

Note 10: The Holy Spirit is a person

Scripture: But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth (John 16:13)

Note 11: The Holy Spirit has a will

Scripture: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law (Galatians 5:22-23)
