Rapper Meg Thee Stallion has launched a non-profit organization honoring her parents, Joseph Pete Jr. and Holly Thomas.

She decided to begin the organization on her 27th birthday and named it the “Pete & Thomas Foundation,” which will create charitable programs in Houston.

The Pete & Thomas Foundation’s mission is to “effect meaningful and positive change in the lives of women and children, senior citizens, and underserved communities in Houston, TX and across the globe,” according to their website

Meg Thee Stallion told Peoples magazine,”Launching the Pete and Thomas Foundation is easily one of the most significant endeavors that I’ll ever be part of in my career.”

The rapper also took to Instagram announcing her new organization, stating “My parents raised me to help others and give back, and I’m incredibly proud to launch this foundation in their memory.”

This foundation awards students with scholarships and resources, assists families of single mothers in need, helps with housing issues that senior citizens face, and also provides health and wellness care.
