Pastor Michael Todd ended the ‘Here is Holy’ series in the only way you would expect him to, with a bang. The final sermon within the series was entitled “Here We Go.” Pastor Todd explained that this phrase is the response we should give God as we walk in obedience.

Pastor Todd shared a funny, yet insightful story of when Pastor Natalie Todd surprised him by taking him sky diving. Through his reservations and fear he eventually had to let it all go and uttered the phrase “Here We Go,” as he plummeted from 10,000 feet above ground. This experience and willingness demonstrates faith and trust in God. Sky diving may not be your beast you need to conquer, but there may be something God is telling you to relinquish your control on, and give it to Him. You just have to be willing to say “Here We Go.”

As always watch or listen to the sermon for yourself to see what speaks to you, and below are a few notes.

  1. Here Is Holy: (def) The awareness that your current situation is sacred and being intentionally used by God to prepare you for your purpose. It’s opposed to there.
  2. Obedience HERE always takes you THERE
  3. Develop a Moses mentality- A Moses mentality fights the instruction of God due to fear and insecurity
  4. Have a “Here We Go” heart
  5. We= People
  6. Your HERE is always connected to a GO
  7. HERE is where we HEAR
  8. GO=Power (Holy Spirit)
  9. Don’t go without power
  10. The Holy Spirit is optional HERE

Scriptures

Isaiah 45:3-6 And I will give you treasures hidden in the darkest secret riches. I will do this so you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, the one who call you by name. And why have I called you for this work? Why did I call you by name when you did not know me? It is for the sake of Jacob my servant Israel my chosen. I am the Lord there is no other God I have equipped you for battle, though you don’t even know me so all the world from east to west will know there is no other God.

Acts 1: 4-5 Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, ” Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift He promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 1: 7-8 He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set those dates and times, and they are not for you to know. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere- in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. ”
