A biopic of Marvin Sapp is coming to TV One

Singer and preacher, Marvin Sapp is on every gospel playlist. It seems as if everyone can recite word for word his hit song “Never Could Have Made It.” Well now fans can get incite into all God has brought him through with his biopic soon to be released on TV One.

Sapp’s career has been nothing short of impressive as he has remained a household name for decades. However, the road to success had its challenges but his faith got him through. The film will shed light on battling alcohol abuse in his teen years, life growing up in Michigan, and developing his music career.

Chaz Lamar Shepherd, known from his role in “Luke Cage,” will play Marvin Sapp. While Ambre Anderson from “The Powerbook II,” will take on the role of Sapp’s wife. Russ Parr has been selected as the director, while Marvin Sapp will be an executive producer.

The biopic is set to air on TV One on August 21st, 2022.
