Rapper Rakim Mayers, known as A$AP Rocky, was arrested for a connection to a shooting from November 2021. The charge was for assault with a deadly weapon.
Mayers got handcuffed arriving in Los Angeles at the LAX airport. He was landing from vacationing in Barbados with his girlfriend and the mother of his future child, Rihanna.
It has been confirmed by his attorney Alan Jackson, that Mayers was arrested.
This is not the first time Mayers has been in trouble with the law; Mayers was just in a Swedish prison in 2019 due to assault.
Mayers has been under investigation since Nov. 6 by the Los Angeles Police Department. The alleged shooting took place in the Hollywood Dell, a neighborhood in Los Angeles, around 10:15 pm.
Allegedly, Mayers and two other people came to the victim with a handgun on the street corner of Vista Del Mar and Selma Ave. Three to four shots were fired toward the victim, grazing the victim’s left hand.
This seems to be a lousy year so far for Mayers. Just a matter of weeks ago, he was caught up in an alleged cheating scandal with Rihanna’s business partner.
There has yet to be a set court date. Mayers was released on a bond for $550,000.00.
