Rappers Lil Durk and Gunna pays tribute to late fashion designer Virgil Abloh with a newly released video titled, “What Happened To Virgil” that’s on Lil Durk’s seventh studio album, 7220.

Director Cole Bennett and his production Lyrical Lemonade teamed up for the music video where all of the set designs were inspired and/or designed by Virgil Abloh including Drake’s plane Air Drake, which was painted by Abloh.

Virgil Abloh was a fashion designer, the creator of Off White and the creative director of Louis Vuitton who died of cancer.

The visuals for the set showcased the Louis Dreamhouse, from one of his final Louis Vuitton projects where Abloh was the artistic director. Vigirl’s tendency to play with gender tropes makes an appearance as Gunna delivers his verse dressed like Michael Jackson in the “Thriller” video.

Although the video was dedicated to Abloh, Lil Durk also dedicated the lyrics to his late brother who recently passed away.

The song is also pulling heart strings all over TikTok with over 35K creations with people thinking about the people they’ve lost at random moments
