Kenya Barris has been quite the busy man in Hollywood as of lately.

Barris has just been tapped to rework the Hollywood classic, ‘Wizard of Oz’ for Warner Bros. Production. He will be writing and directing the reimagined version of the Hollywood classic with his production company, Khalabo Ink Society, producing it.

The Vice-President of Warner Bros’ Creative Department, Sheila Walcott will help oversee the project with Barris.

This movie will be the latest addition to Barris’ long list of projects that he’s working on. Barris is currently working on a reimagined version of the 90’s sports classic, ‘White Men Can’t Jump’.

Additionally, he is working on a feature-length film about Juneteeth with the multi-talented creative, Pharrel Williams.

The producer just finished the final season of ‘Black-ish’ back in April, another season of ‘Grown-ish’ is currently in syndication on Freeform and now the creator of both shows has just tapped to rework a Hollywood classic.
