The Easy Money Sniper cannot catch a break this season. On Monday, the Brooklyn Nets ruled forward Kevin Durant out for Tuesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a thigh contusion.

This past Sunday, Durant exited the Nets-Heat game after only four minutes of play, after his left thigh collided with the knee of Heat forward Trevor Ariza. At the time of the collision, he had scored the first 8 points for the Nets, picking up right where he left off in his recent return from a hamstring injury.

This season, the “Slim Reaper” has played exceptionally well, whenever he’s been available. He’s played in only 24 out 57 games so far for 2020-2021, albeit with averages of 27.3 PPG, 6.7 REB, 5.2 AST. The Brooklyn Nets are 38-19, good enough for 2nd in the Eastern Conference. This is impressive since the “Big 3” (Durant, Harden, and Irving) have only played seven games together as of yet.

With less than 20 games left in the regular season and injuries still mounting, Nets coach Steve Nash will need to find a way to establish more chemistry between the three stars.

The Brooklyn Nets play the New Orleans Pelicans at 7:30pm Tuesday night.
