Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams teams up with Nike for ‘The Queen Collection,’ a new sneaker, athleisure and streetwear line. The collection is inspired by Williams and will have a ’90s nostalgia added.

“I want people from all walks of life to have the opportunity to be in the room,” Williams stated. “There’s so much incredible talent out there. I hope the next generation sees this program and is inspired to get involved.”

She partnered with Nike on this project to provide culture in the fashion design community.

Every part of the collection celebrates Serena, the athlete, style icon, and champion of change. Williams’ story is embedded deep within the line, down to every single detail.

The tennis champion included 10 up-and-coming designers along with her Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC). The designers were chosen by Nike two years ago for their “diversity in design” apprenticeship program.

The program is an initiative created to help underrepresented designers of color get their work out into the fashion world.

Prices will begin at $20 for a pair of socks and go up to $230 for a tennis tote bag. The sneaker line is set to hit Nike stores and online September 1, 2021.
