Music industry pioneer, Sidney Miller, has died of unknown causes at the age of 89. He founded Black Radio Exclusive, a Black music publication.

Miller graduated from Florida A&M University where he studied pre-med but realized that was not the route for him.

He began working in the music industry where he worked for Capitol Records and became an A&R.

Miller went on to start the first Black music publication, “Black Radio Exclusive,” in 1976 which was his lifelong dream.

The publication had its own annual awards show where artists like Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, LL Cool J, and more received awards.

A fun fact about Miller’s publication; he discovered R & B music group, Naughty By Nature.
