Pastor Michael Todd is back with another series. This series is entitled “Cuffing Season” and is challenging listeners to take a look at their lives as to what has cuffed them, or is cuffing them in their lives. Pastor Todd preached about Samson and Delilah from a unique perspective.

The sermon spoke volumes about what roles, callings, or societal statuses have us in a cuffing season. As always watch the sermon for yourself and see what stands out, below are a few notes.

Notes

  1. All relationships are patterns before they are about people
  2. Your mind is renewed by God’s principles
  3. God’s principles always come with parameters
  4. God’s parameters are always for protection
  5. Cuffing is all about control
  6. You can never be cuffed and in control
  7. Because of parameters there is strength
  8. You never pick right, when you pick from your pain
  9. Cuffing only happens with connection and communication
  10. Comfort ignores caution and leads to compromise
  11. The lap you lay in can limit your life
  12. Cuffing robs you of communion

Scriptures

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:2)

*Samson and Delilah verses Judges 16*

Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah. The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, “See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so we may tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels] of silver.” So Delilah said to Samson, “Tell me the secret of your great strength and how you can be tied up and subdued.” (Judges 16:4-6)

Samson answered her, “If anyone ties me with seven fresh bowstrings that have not been dried, I’ll become as weak as any other man.” Then the rulers of the Philistines brought her seven fresh bowstrings that had not been dried, and she tied him with them. (Judges 16:7-8)

You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings. (1 Corinthians 7:23)
